Overview
We’re excited to introduce a powerful new comparison feature for your dashboard tiles, along with significant improvements to the dashboard interface. These updates make it easier to analyze trends, compare performance across time periods, and customize your dashboard experience.
🆕 New Feature: Tile Comparison
What’s New
Your dashboard tiles can now display comparison metrics, allowing you to see how your current performance compares to previous periods at a glance.
Comparison Types
You can choose from three comparison modes:
- None (Default)
- Standard view with current period metrics only
- No comparison indicators shown
- Previous Period
- Compares current data to the immediately preceding period of equal length
- Examples:
- Today vs. Yesterday
- Last 7 Days vs. Previous 7 Days (8-14 days ago)
- This Month (to date) vs. Last Month (same number of days)
- Previous Year
- Compares current data to the same period last year
- Examples:
- Today vs. Same Day Last Year
- Last 30 Days vs. Same 30 Days Last Year
- This Quarter vs. Same Quarter Last Year
How to Use Comparison
- Navigate to your Home Dashboard or Product Dashboard
- Click the “Customization” dropdown in the top-right area
- Select your preferred comparison type:
- Comparison: None
- Comparison: Previous Period
- Comparison: Previous Year
Understanding Comparison Indicators
When comparison is enabled, you’ll see trend indicators next to each metric:
Trend Badges: – Green arrow up (↑) with percentage: Metric increased compared to previous period – Red arrow down (↓) with percentage: Metric decreased compared to previous period – No indicator: Metric unchanged or comparison data unavailable
Interactive Popovers: – Hover over any percentage badge to see detailed comparison information – Shows current value, previous value, and exact change – Displays the comparison period date range for context

Ordered Product Sales ↑ +15.3%

Metrics with Comparison Support
All key performance indicators support comparison: – Ordered Product Sales – Revenue – Estimated Profit – Orders – Units – Promo Orders – Refunds – Net Margin – Net ROI
🎨 Dashboard UI Reorganization
Customization Dropdown (Previously “Settings”)
The settings dropdown has been renamed to “Customization” and reorganized for better discoverability:
New Structure: – Show/Hide Widgets – Toggle dashboard widgets visibility – (Divider) – Add New Tile – Add additional period-based tiles – Tiles Management – Modify, hide, or delete existing tiles – Show/Hide Tiles – Quick toggle for tile visibility – (Divider) – Comparison Options – Select comparison type (None, Previous Period, Previous Year)
This new organization groups related actions together, making it easier to customize your dashboard experience.
Datatable Controls Relocated
The datatable action buttons have been moved for a cleaner interface:
Before: – Datatable controls were in the top bar – Tile controls were nested inside
After: – Datatable controls are now inside the “Product Statistics” tab content – Tile controls (now “Customization” dropdown) are in the top-right area – Provides a cleaner separation between chart/tile controls and data table controls
Title Bar Toggle Position
The tiles visibility toggle has been moved to the left side of the top bar for better visual balance and easier access.
💡 Tips for Getting the Most from Comparison
Best Practices
- Use Previous Period for recent performance analysis
- Ideal for identifying short-term trends
- Great for weekly or monthly reviews
- Use Previous Year for seasonal insights
- Understand year-over-year growth
- Account for seasonal patterns in your business
- Compare holiday performance across years
- Toggle Comparison Off when you need focused current data
- Cleaner view for presentations
- Easier to read specific metrics
Example Use Cases
Scenario 1: Weekly Performance Review – Set tiles to “Last 7 Days” – Enable “Comparison: Previous Period” – Instantly see if this week outperformed last week
Scenario 2: Year-Over-Year Analysis – Set tiles to “This Month” – Enable “Comparison: Previous Year” – Compare current month to same month last year
Scenario 3: Q4 Holiday Planning – Set tiles to “This Quarter” – Enable “Comparison: Previous Year” – See how this Q4 performs vs. last year’s holiday season
🔍 Technical Details
Performance Considerations
- Comparison data is cached for optimal performance
- Cache automatically updates when you change comparison settings
- No impact on dashboard loading speed
Data Accuracy
- Comparison periods are automatically calculated based on your selected date range
- Custom date ranges are fully supported
- Marketplace-Specific Timezones: All date calculations use each marketplace’s local timezone
- UK marketplace data uses London timezone
- US marketplace data uses Los Angeles timezone
- When viewing combined data (e.g., Oct 2-3), October 2nd means Oct 2 London time for UK sales and Oct 2 LA time for US sales
- This timezone approach is consistent throughout Seller Legend, ensuring data accuracy per marketplace
